Coffee, Tales and Brand Face Lies….
Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation presents A Brief History of Time in Western Canada
Stop in for coffee at the Bert Sheppard library and get a history lesson on the area from the last ice age to the present. Larry Simpson, Associate Regional Vice-President for the Nature Conservancy of Canada, will walk through the history of Western Canada and the effects that different factors played on changing the landscape. Larry will share his passion for history by delving into the irony that, although cattle replaced the void left by the loss of the buffalo 140 years ago, it is cattle today that provide the only hope in maintaining biodiversity in the Alberta foothills for the next generation.
